Sources and boundaries

This independent AptRays experience explains a reconstructed FarmBot Universal Tool Mount. It is not a FarmBot customer case or endorsement. Functional documentation is the factual source. The approved derived geometry, illustrative motion and presentation effects are not OEM performance certification.

Tools and functions

Three magnetic retention points, three media ports and twelve electrical contacts form the common interface. Seeder vacuum holds a seed at the needle; the watering nozzle distributes water; the soil tool uses probes and a circuit board for sensing. Three ports do not mean three simultaneous supplies.

Electrical roles

A: +5 V power; B: ground; C: tool verification; D: soil reading; E/H: motor roles; F/G/K: unassigned; I/J: I²C SCL/SDA; L: protective earth. These are documented logical roles, not a certification of absolute physical contact positions. Verification does not equal a sensor reading. No pulse animation or measured value is supplied.

Retention and verification jumper

Magnets locate retention points. The tool-side B/C connection uses a verification jumper. Shared ground does not imply isolated circuits.

Integration checks and specifications

The following are official recommendations for tools used with stock FarmBot hardware. They are not measured limits of this reconstructed assembly and do not establish compatibility with an arbitrary new tool.

ParameterRecommendationCondition / unresolved check
Tool mass≤ 0.5 kgStock FarmBot tool recommendation; actual load capacity unverified
Tool height≤ 200 mmNew tool and whole motion envelope still require checking
Tool diameter≤ 100 mmFit, rack support and entry/exit clearance require checking
Retention hardware3 magnets, 15 × 5 × 5 mm; M5 screwsOfficial hardware recommendation, not a holding-force rating
PowerPin A: +5 V logical roleNew tool current, wiring and protection must be verified separately
Media / useUnknown ratingsPressure, vacuum, flow, sealing, load, environment and maintenance applicability remain unverified

Soil sensor assembly

The available drawing sheet documents the probe PCB, wiring and verification jumper. The independent view explains function; the probe insertion and signal path are illustrative, and it does not show a physical measurement or a separate tool-change sequence.

Inherited motion and state

The approved 56-second story and independent module evaluators derive from the frozen S06 minimal display patch. Seeder→Watering is the approved change coverage; SoilSensor is explained independently. Motion comes from an external mechanism. The rack itself is passive.

Derived geometry and routes

Contact registration and the selected anonymous media route are controlled reconstruction choices. Dashed lines mark unobserved internal routing; they are not a model of OEM internal passages. Reference copies, sections, transparency and exploded offsets change presentation only.

What this demonstration does not establish

Vacuum holding does not demonstrate completed sowing. Support, displacement and timing in the pickup segment are illustrative, not measured capture distance, vacuum level or machine cycle. No seal, load, safety, flow or sensor-performance certification is claimed. Engineering supply remains off; effects are a separate explanation layer.

Functional official documentation is registered under CC0 in the project source register. Only the approved self-made model and cover are packaged; no official holdout geometry or marketing imagery is used.
